Relationship Problem Solving"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Introduction<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The following are tips for problem solving.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>problem solving has a time and a place.<\/li>\n<li>problem solving has an agenda.<\/li>\n<li>problem-solving is task-oriented; it is not a power struggle.<\/li>\n<li>problem-solving has two distinct phases; a problem definition phase and a problem solution phase.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When defining a problem:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>be specific (refer to what both partners can observe)<\/li>\n<li>be brief<\/li>\n<li>express your feelings about the behavior which is the subject of the conflict<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When solving problems:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>brainstorm solutions<\/li>\n<li>evaluate their costs and benefits to each partner and to the relationship<\/li>\n<li>decide on the best solution<\/li>\n<li>be willing to compromise; problem-solving involves give-and-take<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Also, when defining and solving problems:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>discuss only one problem at a time<\/li>\n<li>paraphrase what you hear your partner saving and check the accuracy of your paraphrase<\/li>\n<li>remember, the attitude with which you approach problem-solving is very important.<\/li>\n<li>problem-solving requires collaboration and problem-solving requires that each problem being discussed is seen as a mutual problem.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Introduction The following are tips for problem solving. problem solving has a time and a place. problem solving has an agenda. problem-solving is task-oriented; it is not a power struggle. problem-solving has two distinct phases; a problem definition phase and&hellip; <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":11,"featured_media":0,"parent":3102,"menu_order":25,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-3835","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>25.
