Wellness"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Introduction<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wellness is the conscious development of the <em>whole<\/em> self. Embarking on a wellness journey is a process of searching for the appropriate &#8216;tools&#8217; for continued growth and development. The National Wellness Institute now recognizes eight &#8220;dimensions&#8221; or essential life areas that collectively comprise the wellness (well-being) of human beings.<\/p>\n<p>Try the Wellness Online Test: www.testwell.org<\/p>\n<p>This wellness model emphasizes the importance of creating a balance in the many different areas that make up your life. Each affects the others and determines your overall wellness status.<\/p>\n<p>Wellness Awareness is: Spiritual, Emotional, Intellectual, Physical, Cultural, Occupational, Social, and Environmental.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wellness Behavior Change<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wellness is both for the moment and the long haul. You have all you need to be happy and healthy right now. At the same time you can spend a lifetime cultivating and refining your own art of &#8220;living well.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em>Setting Goals<\/em><\/p>\n<p>One powerful motivating tool for personal progress is setting goals. Goals help keep you focused on what you hope to accomplish, until you set new ones for even further development.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Your Wellness Balance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wellness is primarily a matter of finding a balance between the many dimensions and natural elements of your life. It is a dynamic balance that is ever changing. Learn about what is referred to as the Inverted &#8216;U&#8217;. It is a good graphic image that serves to remind us of our need to balance out behaviors. Wellness is primarily a matter of balance.
